The Birmingham duo Tunng is comprised of producer/guitarist Mike Lindsay and singer/guitarist Sam Genders, and their very special debut release Mother's Daughter and Other Songs will anoint US listeners to the persistent pleasures of the clumsily named "folktronica." Pleasure is no forgein element to Tunng - to learn that the partnership was borne of a collaberation on soft-porn soundtracks and that these songs were put together underneath a lingerie shop is to gain little insight into the soothing sensibilites of the band.
